Patching LabelTrace on Premiere Sites which have Migrated to Premiere V3.0 using the Firebird Database

This page is only relevant to Premiere sites (NOT Premiere Synergy). If your site is NOT Premiere then do not use the facilities on this page. Please read the whole page before commencing.

Why do I need to run this patch?
Premiere V3.0 and above is based on the Firebird database system. Previous versions used a different database system. The LabelTrace script for Premiere needs to be amended to allow for this.

Do I need to run this on every PC?
No - only on any ONE LabelTrace workstation.

Will I see any difference?
No - you will not see any visible difference in operation after this patch has been carried out.

Can I apply this patch before my Premiere system is upgraded to V3.0?
Yes - the new LabelTrace script for Premiere is compatible with the original Premiere database system.

What do I need to do?
Click on this link "Patch for Premiere script V 1.6"

Choose the option to RUN or OPEN. After a few seconds, you will see the patch program description "Update Premiere extension to v1.6."

Click on the "Next" button to complete the patch then click on the "Finished" button to close.

Note that after Premiere is upgraded, the database name is different so it is necessary to amend this in the "Configure Extensions" option. Click on Start > Programs > QuickTrace > LabelTrace > Configure Extensions. This shows the parameters used to connect to Premiere. Change the "dbname" entry - e.g. "PCS.GDB" will become "PCS.FDB".
